Is Your Website Underperforming? Here’s Why…

By May 31, 2019 No Comments

Today, your website is your most powerful asset. It offers your customers the ability to do business with your company 24/7, is the hub of your marketing efforts, and the key to developing your brand. If your site’s not generating views, showing up on SERPs, or providing the leads or sales you were hoping for, it’s time to take a closer look.

Here are some of the most common reasons that your website may be underperforming and how you can fix it!

You’re Not Getting “Found” Online

You can have the most beautiful website on the Internet, but if you’re not getting found, what’s the point? Take a look at your site’s search engine optimization. Make sure each of your pages includes keywords relevant to your business and build your content around those keywords. Include keywords in headers, alt tags, photo tags, meta descriptions and blog posts.

User Experience

When your website is found, what does a visitor see? A poor experience could mean difficult navigation, unclear product descriptions, long page load times, or confusing content. If your bounce rate is high, and page view times are short, you may have a user experience problem. This can not only negatively impact your search engine ranking, but it’s also bad for business. Take a look at your design from the perspective of a visitor. Optimize images, make sure navigation is clear and easily accessible, and keep your content clear, easy to read and understandable.

Unclear CTAs

If you’re getting traffic, but conversions are low, look at your calls-to-action. Be sure your CTAs are clearly written, easy to see and use actionable language. Make sure the premium content you’re offering is valuable and worth converting for, for your users.

Your Site Isn’t Mobile Ready

Today, mobile search has outpaced traditional laptop and desktop searches. So if you haven’t optimized your website for mobile, you’re potentially losing more than half your traffic. If you’re site isn’t easy to navigate on a mobile device, potential customers will stop coming… and the search engines will penalize your ranking.
